In that will, reference is made to his sons Daniel and Joseph as having already received all that they will receive. It appears that the two brothers had received their inheritance and moved further south. Both were still alive at the time of their father's death.
It is this statement and the evidence that a Joseph Hough that was closely tied to a Daniel Hough appears in eastern NC and then in various locations across the state to Anson Co, NC and then in the Kershaw District of SC, that provides the strongest evidence that my Hough lineage traces back to John and Hannah Hough in Bucks Co, PA.
Daniel Hough appeared in Stokes Co, NC and seems to have settled there. After that, no evidence is found with him living near or associated with Joseph Hough. Stokes Co was later split into Stokes and Forsyth Co. There are numerous "Huff" families in southeastern Forsyth but no evidence to tie them to Daniel is known (at least by me).
